The Alloway Football Club Inc. held their Annual General Meeting at the Melbourne Hotel on Wednesday 17th January. Thank you to the members who attended or have been in contact with the club.

The Alloway Football Club Inc. would firstly like to thank outgoing members Lynette Brown - CEO, Craig Brown - Junior President and Dee Peever - Registrar for the work they have put into the club over many years. These members have been integral in the success of the club over many years with a highlight being the Junior Club of the Year 2016. We are lucky though as they are our family they will still be involved in the background and supporting however they can.

Thank you to the above members for providing this support to the club to ensure that positive experiences can continue for our members. As can be seen in the list above unfortunately the club is still requiring a CEO, Registrar, Sponsorship Coordinator and a few other minor roles. Thank you for some interest shown already for one of the roles. The executive have nominated Tim Trippier as our Junior President, after his acceptance to take on the role over the phone. This will be on a casual basis until our committee votes on his position under accordance of our constitution. Thank you Tim.

The club would firstly like to apologise that fees have gone up for some teams due to Football Wide Bay taking over the running of competitions in the area. As well Football QLD have put their fees up slightly. The committee have worked extremely hard to lower fees and in the junior ranks are around the same price as the larger clubs.

Training for juniors will begin in February once everyone is settled back at school. Information will be provided ASAP on starting dates, coaches etc. Senior Men and Women train Wednesday nights at 6:30pm at Martens Oval, except senior men start tomorrow night, same time. Our junior sign on is on Saturday 10th February from 10am - 2pm. Come on in to have a chat with the committee or even to grab some lunch from our awesome sponsor. We have a 5% discount card that also helps the club.

The Alloway FC will organise a 20% off day at Rebel Sports soon for any members needing boots or shin pads. The Alloway Football Club Inc. sells all other gear, however a reminder that players will borrow a playing shirt each week for the game so we only ask for players to purchase shorts and socks. The Alloway Football Club Inc. will be running a major fundraiser in aid of supporting our junior players at the club. The club will hold a trivia day on Sunday 2nd July, 2017 at the Melbourne Hotel starting at 12pm. It would be great to see as many supporters, supporting this event. The club is also looking at running a hamper raffle as well on this day. The club is still needing a helper in the club to co-ordinate this event, with the support of our secretary, who will run the trivia day. The role of co-ordinator will be to ensure all hampers have been organised to raffle and support in organising donations and prizes for the day. If you would be interested in this role please contact Matt Brown at secretary@allowayfc.asn.au. The committee will also be asking for a family $10 gift donation (non-alcoholic) towards our hampers that will be used to raffle to help with more support of our teams. Reminder this event is our major fundraiser, at present, for the club. It would be great to get as much support as we can to make this event successful. The Alloway Football Club Inc. is proud to announce that the club is the winner of the FBI Junior Club of the Year for 2016. This is testament to our junior competition teams that have had a fantastic 2016 season. Points for this award go on a criteria of number of goals, number of yellow/red cards, including other criteria. Our teams showed positive behaviour throughout the season.

Congratulations to Alloway Football Club Inc. Under 12 player Ethan J. on his selection in the 10-12 Years Wide Bay School Sport Football team to play at the 10-12 Years QLD State Titles in Stanthorpe in June.

This is a great achievement for Ethan. The club wishes you all the best at the State Titles.

To all Alloway FC members, the club is looking for a manager to help out the 2nd division men in 2016. The main job for the manager is completing team sheets, filling water bottles, time keeping for the coach if needed and washing team strips each week.

Junior Update as at 1st March, 2016. The u/6 teams are now full with 2 teams nominated. The other teams full are u/9, u/10, u/11, u/12 and u/13 playing in the u/13-14 competition.

We have 1 spot left for u/7 for 2016 to finish with 2 teams, and about 3 positions left in u/8 to make 2 teams. Unfortunately we have not had the interest to nominate an u/13 girls team or u/16 girls team in 2016.

The Alloway Football Club Inc. has begun receiving a heap of interest in the newly formed social competition for ladies aged 30 and over. Sorry to the men with being unable to create a social over 35 team. The club does not have enough over 35's at this current time, however in the future there will be a great possibility.

As part of Football Qld's restructure into social football, our Competition Adminsistrator, Football Bundaberg has created a division for ladies to enjoy social football with the focus being fitness and fun.

Games will played on a Tuesday evening at Martens Oval (opposite Across The Waves Sportsclub).

At this stage it is proposed teams will have 9 a side, however the club will need more to cater for any injuries or sickness.

The cost for playing the season is TBA.

The Alloway FC Junior training commences this week on Tuesday 16th for U/12 and U/13 starting at 4:30pm and Thursday 18th for our U/6 & U/7's at 4:45pm, U/8's, u/10's and U/11's at 4:30pm and u/9's at 4pm at St Luke's Anglican School. Please ensure players have boots, shin guards and socks to cover their guards.

Also as St Luke's Anglican School have been kind to offer us the fields again in 2016, please abide by their rules, especially no smoking or alcohol on the grounds. Also St Luke's Anglican School will not be liable for any damage or injuries while on their grounds so please ensure everyone is respectful of the grounds. Lastly families can you please park near the tennis court or in the ELC Carpark. Thanks.

Update on Teams: Our Under 9's and Under 13's are now full. Thank you to all who have registered. There are still team positions in Under 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12's, although under 12's are nearly at the quota as well. Thank you to all supporters that came to the junior sign on yesterday. We had some great numbers arrive. Teams are beginning to form nicely, so please ensure you register over the coming weeks. At present the season will begin on the weekend of the 11th March, 2016.

There will now not be another face to face sign on day, other than training sessions for our juniors, starting next week 18th February. The change is due to the weather and some teams are still arranging their coaching times and days. At present the draft for training will see under 6-12 training on Thursdays and u/13 on Tuesday, however this is subject to change. Rest assured that all junior's 6 - 13 years are at St Luke's Anglican School for training. (Sorry for changing the information provided on her from last night). Our excellent Junior DOC, Mr Ryan Collins, is busy finishing off everything to make 2016 a smooth transition for all coaches and players. More on training will be provided by the end of the week.

There was a newsletter sent out last week regarding fees. There was a mistake with the option to pay. In 2016 the registrar will be unable to accept registration for any player, unless payment is received in full before the 10th March, 2016. Paying by the 10th March will allow our registrar Dee Peever to activate memberships so that sporting pulse can add you into team sheets (all competition ages). If you are not on the electronic team sheet you will be unable to play. Thank you to the many people who have already begun paying their full fees for the season.

The club will also offer a 10% discount for members within the club, who have 3 or more playing from their immediate family. This discount is on full payment of fees paid before the competition starts on the 11th March. Have a great week.

The Alloway Football Club Inc. would like to notify all club members that the Queensland Government's Get Playing Vouchers, Round 7, will be open on Wednesday 27th January for eligible members. Vouchers will again be for $150.

Some dates to be aware of: * Voucher applications open 10am 27 January 2016 * Vouchers applications close 30 March 2016 or earlier if all available vouchers are allocated. * Vouchers must be presented to the club by 6 May 2016.

Children and young people are eligible to apply for a voucher if they are a Queensland resident aged from 5 to 17 (inclusive) at the time of application, and:

* the child, or their parent, carer or guardian, holds a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it, or * the child’s application is supported by two referral agents (School teachers, local councillors, council youth development officers and members of parliament are no longer eligible to be referral agents)

Reminder: Eligible children and young people who received a voucher in 2015 are eligible to apply for a voucher in 2016.

Vouchers are issued on a first come, first served basis. Once the vouchers are fully allocated for a round, no further vouchers will be issued.

The Alloway Football Club Inc. is still calling for the following positions to ease the load on the committee for the 2016 season.

They are: *Treasurer: (Objective: To ensure that a financial management and reporting system is put in place and operable so the club committee has an accurate understanding of the financial status of the club at all times. Hours needed per week: 3 hours)

*Fundraising Coordinator (Most fundraising ventures are planned and already organised. This position is vital to be a support for areas like our trivia night, major fundraiser, meat raffles etc. Hours needed per week: 3 hours)

*Sponsorship Coordinator: (To organise sponsors for the 2015 season and ensure reporting on sponsorship agreements is provided to committee. Hours needed per week: 3 hours)

*Volunteer Coordinator: (To liaise with volunteers in the club eg, committee, coaches, raffle helpers and look at organising volunteers to help. Hours needed per week: 3 hours)

Thank you also to Chad Simpson who has helped out the last few days to do the treasury reports, and has offered his services to help out on an interim base until a worthy treasurer nominates. The Alloway Football Club Inc. has great pleasure in announcing Chris Pye and Chad Simpson as our Under 12 coaching team and Craig Brown and Jarrod Flor as our Under 13 coaching team in 2016.

The committee and new Junior DOC, Mr Ryan Collins, are very excited to have the coaches in 2016. For the Under 12's, Mr Chris Pye brings much experience from his time in England and is the brains and organiser behind our disability football program at Alloway FC. Mr Chad Simpson has been involved in the club for many years and helped with the Wide Bay Revolution development program as well as contributing in the club as president for 3 years and coaching teams for many years.

For under 13's sees the 2015 premiership winning coaches of Mr Craig Brown and Jarrod Flor continuing. Craig has been an extremely successful coach with Alloway FC winning many titles with ladies, seniors and juniors over his time at the club. He has been influential in bringing through many players to the senior rank and the club looks forward to both himself and Jarrod Flor coaching the team. Jarrod had a fantastic year in 2015 as an assistant coach of the under 12's with Craig and was also the recent recipient of two 2nd division awards from his time playing senior men for the club.

A decision on training times and training start dates will be provided in due course, as well as our junior sign on dates, which are yet to be organised due to external issues out of our control. The Alloway Football Club Inc. has great pleasure in announcing our senior coaches for the upcoming 2016 season. We have some regulars still involved and some new blood in the ladies.

All coaches will provide a great platform to build on in 2016. It is great to also see some coaches back in the fray after a year off in 2015.

Our 2016 coaches are: Senior Men: Hamish Jansen & Craig Brown 3rd Div Men: Tony Huxley Ladies: Kayla Yarrow & Kelsie Havers

Training for our senior men will start on Tuesday 5th January at the Alloway Country Club at 6pm, with our ladies starting on Wednesday 6th January at 6pm. All new and old players are welcome to attend. Also any parents in the club wanting to have a run in 2016 please feel free to attend.

The club will also be looking for managers to help with these teams. If available please contact the club.

All junior coaches will be announced hopefully in the coming week for the 2016 season. Look forward to a positive 2016 season.

The Alloway Football Club Inc. has great pleasure in announcing a new partnership with Sports in Focus Photography. The club will be holding a team photograph day on Saturday 20th June, 2015 for ALL junior and senior teams.

It is hoped to use the admin block at Martens Oval for these photos, however we are still in the organising part of this. In the coming week you should receive a photograph information pack.

In a few weeks the event's coordinator, for Sports in Focus, will organise a roster for the photo shoot and send back to us. This will specify times for photos. Please ensure that you follow this roster to allow all Alloway players to be photographed.

At this time the committee of the Alloway FC would like to thank our under 12 manager and parent, Hayley Steffan, for the wonderful photos she has taken. She has done a great job of catching some great moments this year. These photos through Sports in Focus are a bonus to what a great volunteer does for us and is sure to provide the club with great individual and team photos to allow the club to display our great teams in 2015. The club can not run without all volunteers, officials, committee and players, however it can definitely not run without our valued supporters in Queensland, the rest of Australia and around the world.

Thank you to a large contingent of Alloway Football Club members who have paid their fees in full. This is a friendly reminder that fees are now overdue and need to be paid to the club ASAP to ensure that you continue to be financial and able to take the park each week.

1st reminder letters will be sent out by email and/or post to seniors in the coming weeks and juniors have received an email from our junior registrar. If you can please organise payment to the bank a receipt can be authorized.

The Alloway Football Club Inc. has great pleasure in announcing that the club has been successful in achieving a National Club Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) level 2 accreditation. Chris Kenward, from Football QLD, provided the club secretary Matt Brown with the news yesterday. The club has also been informed that we are the 4th club in Queensland to receive the NCAS Level 2 Accreditation and the 1st club again in the Bundaberg and Wide Bay area to achieve this. The club completed NCAS Level 1 accreditation in 2013 and was also the 1st club in the region to achieve this and has also completed both Good Sports Level 2 and Healthy Eating Level 1 in 2014, after becoming accredited with Good Sports in 2007. The importance of these accreditation's is to provide club administrators a clear and concise model which identifies and recognizes best practice in all areas of club administration. A bonus of the NCAS accreditation is now Football QLD have also come on board to help pay for grant writers to complete any capital works at the Alloway Country Club, which the committee will begin discussing at meetings over the coming months. The club is taking steps forward to ensure that the vision of the club is followed. Part of our club vision is for the Alloway Football Club Inc. to be highly regarded as the family club, leading by example, in organisational excellence that positively engages it’s players, affiliates and the local community. As can be seen with our social media sites, website and now NCAS Level 2 accreditation we are working extremely hard to ensure that the club is run correctly for all members. The club is beginning to move in a forward direction to provide a great club, with excellent history, for everybody in the Bundaberg region. Thank you to all who helped make this NCAS Level 2 a reality. Don't forget our sign on tomorrow at St Luke's Anglican School.
